MONTEZUMA, IOWA

Participate in our growing church community. Let’s get connected!
Our church is served by a board of elders and deacons, and is theologically built upon strong reformed principals.
In 1856, the First Presbyterian Church began to serve God in the community of Montezuma.

9:30AM WORSHIP—
We exist to glorify God at First Presbyterian Evangelical Church (FPEC). Join us as the scriptures are opened each Sunday morning and the infallible Word of God is preached with a full children’s program during service. Praise and worship include a mix of hymns and newer songs.
THIS IS US—
We are a simple church with a simple message:
Know Jesus and Make Jesus Known!

What a hope we have in Jesus who loved us so much He died in our place for our sins upon the cross, was buried and rose again! It is that power of the resurrection that turns our stoned hearts into flesh and enable us to live of our King!
Looking forward to all of us being together before God’s throne in worship tomorrow, whether you join us at the church building or you join us on line, together in Christ we are His church!
Outline for tomorrow
THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION PHILIPPIANS 3:7-11
Death has been defeated: Resurrection power changes everything! Ephesians 1:3-21
The power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ turns your world right side up! Philippians 3:7-8
Acts 26:12-16 “I was traveling to Damascus under these circumstances with authority and a commission from the chief priests. 13 King Agrippa, while on the road at midday, I saw a light from heaven brighter than the sun, shining around me and those traveling with me. 14 We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice speaking to me in Aramaic, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ 15 “I asked, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ “And the Lord replied, ‘I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting. 16 But get up and stand on your feet. For I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and a witness of what you have seen and will see of me.
The power of the Resurrection opens our blind eyes to the reality of the person of Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:8-9
Acts: 9:15-18 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for this man is my chosen instrument to take my name to Gentiles, kings, and Israelites. 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.” 17 Ananias went and entered the house. He placed his hands on him and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road you were traveling, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 At once something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he got up and was baptized.
I Timothy 1:12-17 I give thanks to Christ Jesus our Lord who has strengthened me, because he considered me faithful, appointing me to the ministry— 13 even though I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an arrogant man. But I received mercy because I acted out of ignorance in unbelief, 14 and the grace of our Lord overflowed, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 15 This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them. 16 But I received mercy for this reason, so that in me, the worst of them, Christ Jesus might demonstrate his extraordinary patience as an example to those who would believe in him for eternal life. 17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
The power of the resurrection strengthens us to deny ourselves as we follow Jesus! Philippians 3:10-11
Luke 9:23-25 Then he said to them all, “If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of me will save it. 25 For what does it benefit someone if he gains the whole world, and yet loses or forfeits himself?
Titus 2:11-14 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12 instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. 14 He gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people for his own possession, eager to do good works.
